Red Zone project was reviewed for newcomers

Marsha will e-mail questionnaire to Fire wise membership to determine who is an active member and who is an advisory member.

Bob Koeng reviewed slash discussions, including Phoenix Recycling, Phoenix has just acquired a grinder capable of handling 18” diameter material. Bob and Marsha will be meeting with Phoenix to discuss possible options to be made available to Fire wise members.

Alan Farnsworth reviewed how Public Lands has dealt with slash problems in past.

Ambassador Recruitment Meeting will be held after this meeting, a large group is expected to attend.

At least 3 more Ambassador Recruitment Meetings are planned for Fire Prevention Month in April.

Fire Ready will make available their CD on defensible space to all ambassadors.

Fire Prevention and Education Month:
Events this year to be planned by ambassadors, events will be advertised on a Website, notify Marsha by March 9th of items to be put on web site.

Land Use Code will be discussed by La Plata County on 2/21/07, Firewise members are urged to attend.

Meeting dates for 2007 will be every third Tuesday of every other month starting March 20th. Meeting times have been changed to 4:30 p.m. at the La Plata Electric Association multi-purpose room unless otherwise noted on the agenda.
